Have You Heard

Wearing: Urban Outfitters Trench coat/ Cotton On basic tee/ One Teaspoon Shorts/ Wittner Boots
Ray Ban Round Sunglasses

Round is the new square, or so it seems! I have to say that I am definitely a brand loyalist, as I share a continuing love for Ray Ban Aviators.

At last count I had about 11 different pairs, slightly crazy, yes, but when you find a style thats classic, iconic and survives countless attempts of being squashed in its entirety by my rear, I find it hard to argue a better 'must have'.

Fashion is cyclical and as far as the current trends go, round sunglasses are everywhere.
As much as they were the defining ingredient in many outfits of the 60's, I mean, who can forget John Lennon's penchant for them.
This season finds them back again, adorning some of the most stylish throughout Paris, London and New York.

So I think its time we step away from the safety of the aviators and pick up a fresh pair of round sunnies for the summer season.

** Vision Direct have the most extensive range and I find they are the most affordable, making this purchase even more justifiable. ;)

Round She Goes

Wearing: H&M Trench-Mac Coat/ Etrê Cécile Jumper/ Bassike Stripped Tee/ Lee Jeans/ Witchery OTK Boots/ Sportsgirl woolf Sunglasses /ASOS Fringed Suede Backpack

Melbourne, spring! Time to put away the coats and jumpers and put on the tees embracing the endless amounts of sunshine!

Ah....nope, not as yet ladies!
As most of the Melbournites' would know there are many days during spring where it is still cold, miserable and the 'random' sideways rain shower is to be expected, if not guaranteed.

Trench/Duster or Mac Coats are the perfect solution to this unique Melbourne weather phenomenon. These little babies literally march in to save us from the "4 Seasons in one day" kind of weather we are notorious for, shielding us from majority of the untoward weather situations thrown at us.

Versatility, style and classic appeal that will never date, balancing out almost every outfit combination known to woman, is the other major reason why you should not walk but run to add one of these  coats to your wardrobe, as not having one would be a crime.

Byron Escape

Wearing: Bonds Cardi/ Junk Clothing Wasted Youth Jumpsuit/ Converse Rubber All Stars/ Ray Ban Aviators

Yes I got out of Melbourne for a well deserved 'escape'. As much as the weather man has been saying its been the warmest winter in Melbourne for awhile, I beg to disagree! Im not sure if I'm becoming too 'soft' or I need to move but I'm seriously over Melbourne's winter....its time to defost!

Byron Bay would have to be my favourite place in Oz as I love the lifestyle, beaches, food and vibe this place has. It speaks to my inner boho hippie, as there is nothing I love more than kicking back, listening to music by the beach with friends. I think having a simple life is so important!

The wonderful team at Junk Clothing were kind enough to send me some outfits for my Byron escape and the Wasted Youth Jumpsuit that I'm wearing is one of my favourite pieces from the upcoming collection, so easy to throw on and get that boho byron vibe as the days are creeping closer to summer.

Heads and Tails

Wearing: Cotton On Cropped Jumper/ Uniqlo Striped Shirt/ ASOS Leather Skirt/ Wittner 'Tanya' Boots/ Ray Ban Aviators

Layering pieces in winter to show off different patterns, textures and the tails/sleeves of a simple shirt is a great way to up the ante on this classic look.

I love the three different textures to this outfit, adding ribbed, muted stripes and leather together. Experimenting with textures can be fun and it adds a different element to your outfit.
Just don't go too crazy, try keep it within a similar colour palette so it balances and compliments each other and you can't go wrong.

One way or another

Wearing: Cotton On Jumper/ Somedays Lovin Streamline Plaid Dress/ Sportsgirl Denim Shirt/ Friend of Mine Boots/ Spell Designs Dreamweaver Bag/ Casio Watch/ Odisya assorted Armwraps and Bracelets

You all know my style, a little bit grungy, a little bit dirty, lots of black and of course leather, I have lovingly nicknamed it as 'dirty grunge'.

So when the lovely peeps from Somedays Lovin asked me what my 'off duty' look is, this above is it. Channeling my inner 90's style, I love all things related to this era, the music, style, stories and of course the memories.

The Midnight Rambler Collection by Somedays Lovin easily, hands down is one of my favourite collections to date. Lots of tees, oversize jumpers, boho skirts and plaid feature throughout this collection and the black lace flares are insane, its fair to say I'm in love and find it so easy to match anyone of these items into my existing wardrobe.

I do think at the moment 'fashion' has an ongoing love affair with plaid. This classic style which hails originally from the highlands has been adopted time and time again, season after season, making this such an easy style to wear anyway and to suit any personal style.

To see what I am taking about find the Midnight Rambler Collection at     www.somedayslovin.com.au

Take My Hand

Wearing: Glassons Knit/ ASOS Midi Skirt/ Witter 'Topper Heels/ Ray Ban Club Masters/ Mimco Pony Hair Bag

Winter is here, yay....cue the sarcasm! I cannot say I am too pleased as I am definitely a summer person hands down, BUT one good reason for winter is its fashion (as I keep telling myself)
The ability to wear beautiful chunky knits, leather minus the sweating and cocoon coats add to this seasons versatility.

For a modern silhouette I have teamed an ASOS midi skirt with a relaxed, oversized jumper and my favourite leopard print heels, balancing my need for a grungy style of dressing with a little bit of lady thrown in! ;)

Midi skirts are on right on trend for this season and are insanely flattering on all body shapes. This relaxed way of styling has been seen on 3.1 Phillip Lim and Elizabeth and James' recent runway shows and translates easily into anyones wardrobe, so don't be afraid to try it.

Wish "Winter in the City" Style Challenge

Wearing: Wish Departed Vest/ Topshop Leather Jacket/ One Teaspoon Lover Shorts/ Witchery OTK Boots/ Sportsgirl Beanie/ Ray Ban Aviators/ Krystle Knight Cirrus Rings

Winter.....seriously a dreaded word in my vocabulary. Its not a secret that I am a massive fan of summer and summer style, so when winter rolls around all I want to do is curl up in my doona and hibernate till its over!

While trying to embrace winter in Melbourne to the best of my ability I do have a soft spot for winter fashion. Layering, warm coats and an assortment of hats and beanies to keep my head and ears warm.

Wish's latest collection is perfect for Melbourne's icy winds and drizzly days. So when I was asked to be a part of their latest style challenge I jumped at the chance to style their Departed Faux Fur Vest.

Vests are a great layering piece in winter giving you that added warmth when paired over another jacket as shown above. Faux fur was very prevalent on all major catwalks throughout Fashion Weeks here at home and overseas and has been featured in many street style edits from Vogue to WhoWhatWear.com and many other fashion blogs and magazines as a 'must have' piece for the season.

Make sure you check out all the other great looks from the other amazing bloggers who are a part of this style challenge to get some great ideas for your new Wish winter wardrobe.

Man O Man

Maurie & Eve Word Denim Jacket/ Single White Female London Dress/ Friend of Mine Boots/ Shakuhachi Sunglasses/ Krystle Knight Alto Triple Rings

Definition; Oversized "bigger than the usual"

If your going to take any cues from the current style set, oversized is in,  IN a BIG way.
Most designers are adding oversized coats, jackets and tailoring to many of their collections. This has been seen on many designer runways throughout fashion week, including Jonathan Saunders, Christofer Kane, Topshop Unique and Michael Lo Sordo. (A/W 14)

I have to say that I love a bit of over oversized action as it makes layering so easy and looks great, not to mention keeping warm throughout Melbourne's icy winters. This Maurie & Eve Denim Jacket is one of my favs, it fits into my 'dirty grunge' look (remembering that I'm not the biggest fan of feminine dressing) it has an amazing embroided eagle on it, toughening it up and is the perfect 80's throwback to mix and match with pretty much everything!
